"Did you make it to West Coast Craft‘s bi-annual event extraordinaire this weekend? If not, that means you might have missed out on some adorable Instagram ops and a chance to meet your new favorite contemporary crafters and designers. In any case, fear not! We’ve found the coolest, freshest brands from this year’s festivities and are sharing them here.
Frida Kahlo meets Japanese ‘kawaii’ aesthetics in ceramicist Hannah Louise’s mini creations. Munbeibi‘s booth stood out at the fair thanks to its plush pink and white carpeting, and as you came closer, major cuteness took over. Hannah, who splits her time between San Francisco and Sapporo, Japan, specializes in tiny, humorous sculptures. Some designs are hollow, ready to be decorated with fresh flowers. Perfect for a #shelfie, a windowsill or a small nook full of knick-knacks."
"... We love Hannah's work because it's simple, cute and seems to be an authentic reflection of who Hannah is as an individual. "I am a fairly shy person, so I try to be more open when it comes to ceramics. The little faces I paint on everything I make are a big part of my inner world (a very shiny, feminine world!) and I have loved sharing them. It's also easy to strive for perfection in ceramics, and I can be pretty hard on myself when I "fail". A big thing I try to remember is that this is a lifelong craft, I'll always be learning.” We are very excited to be sharing a selection of Hannah’s beautiful pieces ..."
"Gift-giving season is here. And, one of our favorite events to score unique, hand-crafted goodies is West Coast Craft. The bi-annual, San Francisco-based event brings in throngs of stylish shoppers and must-know makers all under one roof.
We anxiously await it every year. And since this year is shaping up to be the biggest one yet, we rounded up a few of our favorite vendors we’re crushing hard for.
How cheeky are these little decorative ornaments by Mūnbeibī Design Studio? Your next #shelfie needs one."
