✿ The Story of Munbeibi ✿

Once upon a time, the Moon circled the earth, but it was not whole. In fact, it was made up of hundreds and hundreds of tiny pieces of moon. Those little pieces were called Munbeibis, and they spent their time floating along with each other, observing the comets and stars. They were known to be calm and contented creatures, but over time, some of the Munbeibis began to wonder what life was like in other lands - in particular, that big blue and green rock they circled round and round…

Over time, there were things about the universe that began changing, and their mysterious neighbouring planet was busy with activity. Once or twice, all the way from the green and blue rock, there were even attempts made to come and visit the Munbeibi world. With these visits, their hearts lit up with excitement, for they saw this as an invitation. And so, some years ago, a small group of daring and adventurous Munbeibis decided to set out from their lunar orbit to investigate Planet Earth.

After much travel and exploration, the Munbeibis settled in the forests, seashores, riverbanks, and deserts of our world, preferring the company of trees and stars to city life; marvelling at the lush greenery, wildflowers, towering mountains and shifting water. Sometimes, they set out from their hiding places to say hello to a special human or two, to bring wisdom from the cosmos, fruits, cakes, flowers, and their unique warmth and whimsical company.

When the night sky is clear, and you look to the Moon, you can almost see the Munbeibis gently floating together along the edges of craters, waiting for their turn at space travel as they gaze back at you. Made of magic, bravery, adventure, dreams, and other lovely things we don’t have the earth-words to describe, these tiny little creatures were born in a sky storm billions of years ago.

Like us, they are made of stardust. ❍
